I actually had dreams last night about the delicious healthy meals I was going to prepare today! A great start to the day. The wonderful thing is that you can actually eat on this diet; portion sizes don’t have to be small because what you are eating is all good. One great tip I was given by my auntie is that you have to make sure you still have some good fats like olive oil as your body needs fat as it plays a role in the metabolic process. Try dressing your salads with sesame oil and / or flaxseed oil (which contains high levels of Omega 3 Fatty Acids which help combat Cancer and helps to stabilise blood sugar levels.) Be careful not to use Olive oil for cooking as it can have a carcinogenic effect.
I drank plenty of organic Detox Tea throughout the day and nibbled on some Nairn’s Oatcakes if I felt a little peckish. In the evening I decided to treat myself to a full body home exfoliation using REN’s Ginger Revivo-Tonic Two Sugar Body Scrub which contains sweet almond oil known for its highly moisturising and soothing properties. I then followed this with the This Works enjoy really rich lotion which contains more than 8 exotic essential oils. It’s really important to moisturise during the winter months as your skin can get dry and irritated when going from the warmth of your home or office out into the cold winter air. Show your skin some loving!
Breakfast: Scrambled organic eggs with chives and rye bread soldiers.
Snack: Two Oatcakes with homemade hummus
Lunch: Hummus on Rye Bread and a large salad of beetroot, spring onion, rocket, grated carrot, cucumber and green pepper with a homemade dressing of 1 part sesame oil, one part olive oil, a squeeze of lemon and salt. (Sounds boring but it was delicious- all the flavours really come out with the addition of the salt)
Dinner: Roasted chicken with baked sweet potato and celeriac served with a chickpea, aubergine and red onion salad.
TRY:
Holland and Barrett - Milk Thistle Capsules (£5.99 for 200) If you've been overdoing it this Christmas give your liver some relief with some milk thistle supplements.
